The E-Scooter - The Other Paths
Part 2, as promised. (Part 1 covered the rental company and homeowner's/renter's insurance paths - catch up first if you missed it.)
Transcript
TSLAn e-scooter hit you and the rider rode off. Here are the coverage paths that still work.
TSLIf the rider gets identified - social media, security cameras, witnesses - that policy is available. Path three - your own UM coverage. Arizona treats an unidentified hit-and-run as an uninsured motorist claim.
TSLCorroboration required - witness, camera, physical evidence - same as any phantom-vehicle case.
TSLSo don't assume 'no plate, no case.' Get the camera footage from every business in a hundred-foot radius. Post on the local subreddit. Someone saw. Someone recorded. Someone knows the rider.
TSLYou don't have to take that lopsided result.
